Xavier House is pioneering a transformative model to serve one of the most overlooked populations in our country: gifted and high-potential youth in the foster care system. Guided by a bold and compassionate vision, our Board of Directors is committed to expanding our inaugural campus into a national network of healing, learning, and opportunity.
At the heart of our mission is a powerful belief: behaviors often misunderstood in highly intelligent children with histories of trauma are not signs of disorder—they are signals of untapped potential. While traditional systems pathologize these behaviors, Xavier House sees promise, creativity, resilience, and brilliance.
Recognizing the need for an approach that honors both the trauma and the talent of these youth, Xavier House is building a comprehensive continuum of care—integrating therapeutic housing, psycho-educational support, and specialized education tailored to their unique needs. Our goal is to shift the narrative from pathology to possibility.
The Need
Gifted youth in foster care are frequently misdiagnosed or ignored by systems unequipped to support their complexity. Their advanced abilities, combined with the effects of trauma and instability, require a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach that doesn’t yet exist at scale. Xavier House is answering this call.
Our Five-Year Vision
- Construct a 56-bed flagship residential campus for boys and girls
- Develop transitional dorms for youth aging out of care
- Launch a specialized on-campus school for gifted learners
- Expand nationally to meet widespread, unmet demand
- Collaborate with researchers to advance understanding and shape best practices

In-House School Program
The youth in Xavier House will be given the opportunity to take courses through public school via virtual courses and in-house enrichment classes provided by educational staff.
