Bananas Foster: Using a National Platform to Support Foster Care

January 14, 2026
By: JD Larrea

When the Savannah Bananas became a household name in baseball entertainment, their founders Emily and Jesse Cole were already thinking about how to turn that platform into something meaningful.

Both drawn to foster care advocacy, the Coles became licensed foster parents in 2020. From there, they began asking a bigger question: how could the Bananas brand do more? The answer became Bananas Foster — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2023 and dedicated to celebrating the foster care community while educating and inspiring others to get involved.

Bananas Foster advocates for everyone touched by the foster care system — children, families, and caregivers — and invites the public to learn, engage, and make a difference.

We love seeing organizations use their reach to shine a light on foster youth. Learn more at:
