Dr. Alissa Cress

Board Chair

Alissa Cress is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Studies, focusing on children with gifts, creativity, and talents. She formerly served as an elementary school teacher and counselor and teacher for youth programs. Her research focuses on minoritized children and children from populations underrepresented in gifted education, teacher training, and parent and society perceptions of giftedness. She received her Ph.D. in Gifted, Creative, and Talented Studies from Purdue University.
